LESSON 21

Summary of the class

This was the last class of the year. In this class we have played a game with an application called Mentimeter, this game consist on select the word related with the definition.

The teacher explained us how she will evaluate the Didactic Unit and finally we create a rubric tu evaluate in groups.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

In this lesson I have learnt a new useful application and how to ellaborate correctly a rubric to evalluate.

My opinion

In general along this course I have learnt, above all, a lot of new activities and applications which are very useful and which I can use in the future, So I think that this had been a great subject.

LESSON 20

Summary of the class

At the beginning of the lesson we had been talking about the course in general. Then we have seen the different types of evaluation that we can use to assess children and how to assess pupils with special necessities.

At the end of the lesson our classmates presented the topic PLANNING FOR EFFECTIVE USE OF ENGLISH IN THE CLASSROOM. This group has presented some creative activities like the kahoot activity.

What I have learnt in the lesson

In this lesson we have learnt how we can assess our children, I think that this is a very important topic because it is an important part of our job.

My opinion

I think that assessment is very important in the teacher´s job and in my opinion this tipic should be worked more in the degree.

LESSON 19

Summary of the class

This was an online class. We have met with the teacher at one hour and we have shown some videos about methodologies. Then the teacher sent us an activity in which we had to complete a chart with the different methodologies that are used in a document that we read.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

I have learnt that it is possible to have a class online, this could be very useful if for some reason we have a problem and we can´t attend the class.

My opinion

This was my first online class in my life so I enjoyed a lot, and as I said before I think that this could be very useful

LESSON 17

Summary of the class

In this lesson the teacher has explained how we have to ellaborate the Didactic Unit. We used an application called Kahoot too.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

I really didn´t learn new things during this lesson because we have done a lot of Didactic Units during these years and I had already know Kahoot.

My opinion

Although most of us knew how to ellaborate a Didactic Unit I think that it was great that the teacher reminded us how to do this because maybe someone didn´t know it.

LESSON 16

Summary of the class

In this lesson our classmates exposed the topic READING AND TELLING STORIES.  First of all they gave us some tips to improve the reading skills in class.

All the activities were very interesting and originals but I would like to highlight the Elmer´s story, in this activity we have to read the story of Elmer, who is an elephant, and when we finished we had to write what we thought about the story on a piece of paper and stick it on Elmer´s body.

What I have learnt in the lesson

I have learnt some originals and funny games to work the skill of reading in class

My opinion

I think that this group had done a great job with this exposition, they did very good activities which were very originals and I think that the whole class had a great time during this exposition.

LESSON 15

Summary of the class

In this class we have finished the ICT for teaching English, the teacher sowed us how we can create a website through Google and we had been trying to design one in class.

We had shown very interesting applications like Symbaloo or the power point templates

At the end the teacher showed us the E-twinnung and the Erasmus +


What I have learnt in the lesson 

I have never create a website and I had no idea that it was so easy, I have learnt to use the Symbaloo and the power point templates, which are tools very useful.

My opinion
I think that these lessons where the teacher show us applications and tools to create activities are very interesting and very useful, and I think that I can use most of them in the future.

I think that the E-twinning is very interesting too because we can get in contact with another countries.

LESSON 14

Summary of the class

During this lesson our classmates have presented the topic WRITTING IN ENGLISH. In this exposition they gave us some tips that we could use to work the writting.

I would highlight th activity about creating a story through pictures  and the activity in which we use shadows.

At the end of the lesson the teacher gave us a questionnaire made with the questions that we gave her yesterday.

What I have learnt in the lesson
I have learnt ways to work the writting better than the traditional ones through funny games.

My opinion

In my opinion this was a very complete exposition and they presented us some interesting and funny games to improve the writting skills.

LESSON 13

Summary of the class

At the beginning of the lesson, in pairs we created a questionnaire of two questions with three possible answers.

Then, the teacher showed us an application called Class Dojo, with this application we can check the list of our students and give them positive or negative points to them. I loved this application and I think that it could be very useful, this is very funny too because you can personalize your own avatar.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

Above all in this lesson I have learnt to use the application Class Dojo which is a very useful application to use it in class.

My opinion

This application is great and I think that I would like to use it in the future because it is very esasy to use, it is fun for children and it is very useful because you can check the list and give positive and negative points very quickly.

LESSON 12

Summary of the class

In this lesson our classmate presented the topic  READING IN ENGLISH. At the beginning of the lesson they have divided us in three groups and there were three corners with differents games.

In the first game they gave us a character to each of us and our role. Each character have a description and with these descriptions we had to guess who was the murderer.

The second game was about an apocalypsis zombie. The speaker told us a story and we have to decide what to do, if we chose a bad option we died and the objective is to survive.

The last game was about a haunted palace. Each of us had to investigate a room of the palace and in each room there was a clue. The objective of the game was to discover the secret of the palace with the help of these clues.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

This lesson was very practical and I have learnt some very interesting games to introduce a topic without any theory.

My opinion

I enjoyed a lot this exposition because the stories of the three games were very interesting. I was impressed with this group because I asked them about the stories and they told me that they created all of them.

LESSON 11

Summary of the class

In this lesson we started the unit ICT for the teaching of English and we completed a questionnaire about the teacher of XXI century where we talked about what we are able to do with the ICT because now they are very important in education.

At the end of the lesson we have seen a video about google sites.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

I have realized that talking about ICT for teaching I am able to use most of the ICT tools.

My opinion

I think that this was a very useful lesson because we have spoke about the importance of the ICT in schools. Nowadays the ICT are more and more usesin schools so it is very important for us, as future teachers to be able to use them.

LESSON 10

Summary of the class

During this lesson our classmates presented an exposition about the topic SPEAKING MORE FREELY. In this class we have played some interesting and funny games. 

The games which I liked the most were the chinese whisper (teléfono escacharrado), the game of "pass the ball" which consist in passing the ball between as while we listen a song and when the music stop the person who has the ball has to describe a picture. The last activity which I liked was the halloween heads, in this activity one person has to put a card on his head and guess the card making yes or no questions.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

With this exposition I have learnt some activities to improve the speaking in children through funny activities, which is very important.

My opinion

I think that this was a great exposition, they presented a lot of good an funny activities to improve the fluency in speaking which I think is  the most important fact in speaking

LESSON 9

Summary of the class

In this lesson me and my group have presented our exposition about SPEAKING WITH SUPPORT. In this presentation we started showing classroom phrases to the rest of the class. 

In this topic it is very important the rhymes and the songs, so we sang the sonf of old Mc Donald had a farm, and the son Count on me by Bruno Mars.

The exercises of memory are very important too, we did an activity in wich we showed to the class some pictures of clothes and then we hide one piece of clothes, the rest of the class have to guess which is the missing clothes.

Other games that we played were I spy with my little eye, riddles and finally an activity about the pronunciation of the words.

What I have learnt in the lesson

While we were doing this exposition I learn many ways of working the speaking with children.

My opinion

I think that in general we did a good presentation with original and funny activities, and I think that most of my classmates had enjoyed with the presentation.

LESSON 8

Summary of the class

In this class it was presented the topic LISTEN AND MAKE. The activities presented in this exposition were about the jobs,

I would highlighted the activity in which our classmates gave us some objects to represent the job that you are, for example, if you are a police man, they will give you a police cap

What I have learnt in the lesson 

In this lesson I have learn haw to introduce this topic in a funny way.

My opinion

I think that our partners did a very good presentatio. They showed us very interesting activities which are original and funny

LESSON 7

Summary of the class

During this lesson we have finished all the activities that we hadn´t finished. Then our teacher spoke us about her experience in Ireland, where she was last year.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

In this lesson I learnt a lot about the education system in Ireland, the most impresive fact for me is that all schools are owned by the church, so all the schools are religious.

Another thing that I have learn, it has nothing related to education, is te gaelic football. I felt impressed when the teacher told us about this. I have never heard about this sport, which is like a mix of football, basketball and rugby.

My opinion

I think that this lesson was very interesting. Always is good to learn about the educational system in other countries in order to try to improve the educational system here in Spain.

LESSON 6

Summary of the class

In this class we started with the expositions, the first group presented the topic LISTEN AND DO, in most of the games that were presented, we have to listen ton some orders and do what they said. 

I loved the hide and seek activity (el escondite inglés) and the mimic activity, where, in pairs, one has to represent an animal without making any noise and the other one has to guess the animal.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

During this lesson I learnt some originals activities on which learners could learn through listening.

My opinion

I think that this was a great exposition, althought it was the first one. Our classmates have shown a lot of confidence, they spoke clearly and fluently and they presented very good activities

LESSON 5

Summary of the class

In this class we continued with the Royal Decree and the Decree of Castilla - la Mancha and we have seen the Common European Framework of Reference. Then we have talked about two interesting things, the Europass and the European Language Portfolio.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

I have learnt what the Europass is and I have remembered thing from last year

My opinion

I think that the Europass and the European Language Portfolio are very useful tools

LESSON 4

Summary of the class

In this lesson the teacher gave us some advices in order to do a good presentations, the activities that we have to present must be creative. Then we continued with the tasks about the laws. In this class we worked the Royal Decree and the Decree of Castilla - la Mancha.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

During this lesson I have reminded what I have learnt last year

My opinion

In my opinion these classes about laws are very boring but they are necessary for us.

LESSON 3

Summary of the class

At the beginning of the lesson the teacher distributed the topics of the presentations that we have to prepare. Then we continued with the laws on education. We did two exercises, the first one consisted in a mind map and the second one was an scheme.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

As in the class before we continued rememembering what we have learnt last year.

My opinion

We saw these topics last year but it is important to remember all these laws because it can hel us in doin our job better.

LESSON 2

Summary of the class

We have seen the Organic Law on Education. First we have seen the Organic Law on Education in Spain, then we have read the Preamble of  LOMCE and finally we have seen a video about the second principle of the Preamble.

What I have learnt in the lesson 

I reminded what we have learnt last year about this topic.

My opinion

I think that it is very important to remember these laws, because these are the laws which are applied in the schools and, at least me, I had forgotten most of this.

LESSON 1

Summary of the class

In this class we have met the people who wasn´t in class last year. We have met an Erasmus student from Poland and a spanish girl who was in London last year. Both of them were talking about their experience.
 At the end of the class our teacher showed us the presentation of the subject and a presentation about her life

What I have learnt in the lesson 

Above all I have learnt what a Erasmus experience is like. Both of my classmates are very happy with their Erasmus so this has to be a great experience.

My opinion

I loved listening to my classmates about this topic and I´m sure I would like to spend some months in another country, studying or working, it doesn´t matter.

Hello everyone!!

I am Javier Corona Gómez, student of teaching at the UCLM. Welcome to my diary of the subject "Didáctica de la lengua inglesa"

In this blog I will write about my classes of these subjects. In every lesson I will summarize what we have done in class, then I will write what I have learnt and finally I will write my opinion of the lesson.
